How do we know what is real and what is not?
What is Email Phishing?
Email fraudsters claiming to be from reputable companies or status, provoking individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers. Scammers and Phishers are no secret, especially to business owners.
The latest phishing attempt Gemini Media Group saw targets website image usage violating “the copyright protected images owned by [someone else].”
See the example below:
Some tips for the next time you suspect a phishing email or website form submission:
- Gemini Media Group uses only images provided and rightfully owned by the client. Otherwise, we purchase the right to use the image.
- DO NOT click on links. Submit forms should realistically NEVER contain links from potential customers. If an email seems suspicious, it probably is.
- Check the email source and the link to which you are being directed. Typically, this will give clues to fraud.
- Give us a call if you aren’t sure! We are here to help.
